Berkeley, California is home to a diverse community of children and families. While some children come from multilingual households, others lack exposure to any language other than English in the home. At Bay Linguistic Advancement Center (BLAC), we aim to increase cultural awareness and experiences for children from diverse backgrounds by empowering them with the tools and education to become multilingual.

In addition to offering an accessible and valuable enrichment opportunity to local elementary age children, BLAC also offers other learning resources and support services to enrolled students. We are excited to provide a service that is unique, sought-after, and affordable for families from a range of socioeconomic backgrounds.

The majority of working parents utilize after school programs to supplement care when school is dismissed, or during holiday closures. However, often, programs lack structure and value, and leave parents concerned that their child is not gaining much from these experiences. The Bay Linguistic Advancement Center is committed to offering a enriching educational solution to local parents.

At BLAC, we believe that it takes a village to raise a child, and envision a world where all children have the opportunity to blossom into lifelong learners with an empowered sense of self and purpose. The process of learning a new language is enlightening, and contributes the the overall enhanced self actualization of young learners.
